FUNCTIONAL BACK SAFETY

     The Functional Back Safety program was originally designed to help hospitals reduce their growing cost of work related injuries. By the history and mechanisms of injury in healthcare we devised a new approach and new training for employees. From a 4-month baseline of averaging over 6 days lost per injury, Functional Back Safety reduced the average time lost per back  injury to less than 2 days.   More Importantly our 4 year follow-up demonstrated that our clients were able to sustain those results over the following four years.
     Our approach threw away the old school teachings typically demonstrated by lifting a box from the middle of the floor and was directed at correcting  the functional work activities of healthcare workers. Our course will teach your staff how to safely move and transfer patients, and teach a biomechanically sound approach real-work tasks which they perform throughout the day.   The result has been tremendous savings not only in terms of employee injuries but in cost reduction, productivity, and insurance premiums.
